Celebrating Sustainability - Casual Learning during city festivals

In the project Celebrating Sustainability, we will transform a city festival in the region of Stuttgart into a place of inspiration – a place where education for sustainable development can take place. By employing casual learning as a method, festival visitors will be invited to look at global (in)justice and find out the impact of their own behaviour in an interactive and playful way. They will be encouraged to give more sustainable behaviours a try and to stand up for a more just world.

For the development of the casual learning material, we will be working closely with the city festival organisers and the participating associations. This will allow for us to work with the themes and format of the festival and customise educational material. The aim is that the tools will be integrated seamlessly into the festival environment, but also noticeable enough to arouse curiosity from festival visitors.

After the city festival, we will summarise and process our experience and evaluation results and spread them among interested persons, so that the approach can be copied and the tools created can be replicated for similar events.
