Point of discussion: Climate - A controversial discussion on climate justice
In "Point of Discussion: Climate", the topic of climate justice will be brought to university students and the general public. Our goal is to counteract the polarisation of public climate discussion by encouraging dialogue between people and fostering changes of perspective.
In the fall of 2022, we will be offering a multi-module course at Aalen University. Students will learn about the format of a debate, while engaging in and learning about selected climate justice topics. The university course will then finish with a debate competition, in which the students will demonstrate what they have learned by competing against more experienced debaters.
Afterwards, the results of the debates will be shown in a casual learning installation in the Esslingen district, with the goal of raising awareness about climate justice and encouraging the general public to reflect on and join the discussion.
After the course and the development of the educational installation, we will pass our experiences and evaluation results on to interested multipliers.
