Training on on EU INTPA Proposal Writing and Funding Procedures

AFSC – the American Friends Service Committee – is a traditional peace and human rights organisation with a clear focus on non-violent conflict resolution, social justice and fair migration policies. In its international work, AFSC strengthens local teams in building sustainable structures and capacities for action – including in the context of project funding. AFSC’s Somalia team based in Kenya should be supported in expanding its knowledge and skills in the area of EU funding applications.
Together with the partner organisation, finep analysed their needs and designed and implemented a tailor-made workshop in which AFSC’s Kenya-based Somalia team was trained on how to develop successful EU proposals. All phases of a typical EU-INTPA application process were run through and the training materials were prepared according to the needs. The 4-day training took place on site in Kenya in English and included many participatory elements such as working on case studies in groups and engaging in group discussions. Together with finep, the team also drew general conclusions for their future acquisition work.
