Caritas International is the global relief organisation of Caritas Germany, dedicated to supporting people in need – regardless of religion, origin, or political belief. In close cooperation with local partner organisations, Caritas Germany works to strengthen community resilience worldwide in the face of crises, disasters, and the impacts of climate change.
Together with a local partner organisation of Caritas International in the Philippines, finep supported the preparation of a project application in the BMZ funding programme for NGOs. The aim of the project was to sustainably improve the resilience of older people, women and people with disabilities in Camarines Sur through inclusive disaster risk reduction.
As part of a multi-day online workshop, finep facilitated an intensive process in which the needs of the target groups were analysed, concrete project goals were formulated, and realistic measures were jointly developed with the local partners. Building on this, finep subsequently supported the partner organisation in preparing the narrative BMZ application.
The structured workshop and subsequent technical support from finep led to a convincing project proposal, which forms the basis for an impact-oriented and participatory disaster risk reduction project in a particularly vulnerable region of the Philippines.
