The city of Esslingen drew up an Integrated Urban Development Concept (ISEK) for the Pliensauvorstadt district in 2023-2024. The concept was developed with the intensive involvement of various stakeholders from politics, administration and citizens. As it became evident that additional support for process coordination and moderation was needed, finep was asked to join.
From 2024 onwards, finep supported the project team, consisting of the project manager from the urban planning office and the commissioned planning office. finep was responsible for designing, facilitating, and communicating the participation steps, both within the administration and in public dialogues.
More capacities and clarified responsibilities promoted transparency and reliability throughout the entire process. This made it easier for a wide range of stakeholders to participate constructively.
