Kick-off workshop with training in EU regulations for a project in India

SWISSAID is an independent foundation based in Bern that has been working in nine countries of the Global South since 1948 to combat hunger, promote agroecology, gender equality and a strong civil society – especially in rural regions. The project “Addressing Gender-based Violence and Discrimination, particularly Domestic Violence and Child Marriage in the Marathwada Region of Maharashtra” marked the first time that the India country office obtained EU funding. This called for a thorough orientation on the corresponding requirements and compliance guidelines.
In close coordination with the organisation, finep designed and conducted a three-day kick-off workshop with the local partner organizations in India in English with simultaneous translation into Marathi. The main focus was on training in the administrative processes and compliance requirements of the EU and their application. In the run-up to the project, finep supported the organisation in two preparatory workshops to optimally prepare for the start of the project and to establish adequate processes and structures. In addition, a financial monitoring tool was developed and made available.
