Ackerwelten - Lehrpfad Wertschätzung auf der BuGa

Within the project FarmWorlds finep develops several interactive educational trails in cooperation with agricultural farms. Using different examples of food, they show the interaction of local and global agriculture and present tips for a more sustainable food consumption.

The trail deals with one of the most valuable things for human beings: our food! Every year 10 million tons of food end up in the trash only in Germany – that is 313 kilos per second. It’s high time that we become aware of how much work and resources are being put in our food. Visitors of the trail learn more about the topics of food waste, working conditions in agriculture in the global south and in Europe and about food security.

The trail consists of three stations with hinged chests. Visitors can take postcards with a crossword puzzle and the motifs of the trail.

The trail can be found in the Weltgarten (World Garden), an interactive exhibition on the German biennial federal horticulture show Bundesgartenschau in Heilbronn. The exhibition deals with different global topics around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and creates references to our everyday lifes. The exhibition can be visited from 17th of April until 6th of October 2019 from 9 am to 7pm.
